Available to Members and Their Families
Members of AFL-CIO unions and their families qualify for an array of valuable consumer benefits under the AFL-CIO's "Union-Plus" program. Among those benefits are free and discounted legal services.
Frasier, Frasier & Hickman has been a participant in the program since it began. We are consistently rated as one of the top providers in the Union-Plus Legal Services program.
Available to AFL-CIO union members, their spouses, and dependents, the program offers them assurance they will receive quality legal services, attention to their matter of concern, and the possibility of resolving legal questions at reduced cost.

Benefits available to Union members, their spouses, and dependents include:
Free Consultation – meet with a Frasier, Frasier & Hickman attorney at our office or by phone, on any personal legal matter you choose. There is no limit on the number of consultations, provided each is about a separate matter. However, there is a 30-minute limit on any one consultation.
Free Document Review – important papers (leases, insurance policies, installment sales contracts, etc.) can be reviewed. You are provided an oral explanation of terms and your questions are answered. Written evaluations are not part of this service, nor are documents written by the member or for use in a business capacity.
Free Follow-Up Services – if your lawyer thinks a phone call or letter will solve the problem, then it will be done at no cost to you.
30% Discount on Additional Services – if you are faced with a more complex legal matter, Frasier, Frasier & Hickman will charge you only 70% of the lawyer's normal fee. In a contingent fee case (where the lawyer's fee comes out of any recovery or award you obtain), this discount does not apply. Nor does the discount apply to the member's ownership or operation of a business.
Written Fee Agreement – an agreement on fees will be provided. This protects you and prevents any surprises.
Grievance Procedure – in the unlikely event of a disagreement with your lawyer regarding fees or other matters, the Union-Plus Legal Services program will try to resolve the dispute through informal mediation, or if necessary, arbitration.
Exclusions – because this is a Union program, matters against any Union-related organization or Union official are not included. In addition, Frasier, Frasier & Hickman is not obligated to take every case.
