TULSA, Okla. – Local attorneys say there has been a 25%- 30% uptick in age discrimination claims in the Tulsa area.
Katherine Stromland says she was told she could not get a promotion because she is too old. The 57-year-old works in the airline industry as a baggage handler. She filed a complaint with the EEOC but says they told her there was not enough information to investigate.
However, Stromland says there were several other employees who heard her manager say she was too old and they say they were never contacted by the EEOC.
