A Tulsa man is seriously injured in a crash with a FedEx truck

A 26-year-old Tulsa man was seriously injured in a crash with a FedEx truck on the evening of June 20. Officers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) were summoned to the crash scene, located near where Interstate 44 and 129th East Avenue intersect, just after 6:41 p.m.

When they arrived there, they found a tandem FedEx Ground truck with some passenger side and rear end damage under an overpass in the far left lane. There was a badly damaged white Honda Accord that had come to rest perpendicular to the rear passenger side portion of the semi-truck. The length of the car covered the center and right lanes of the interstate.

Police immediately began to render aid to the motorists upon their arrival at the crash scene. In doing so, they found out that the Honda's operator had suffered serious injuries to his arms, legs and head. He was placed in an awaiting ambulance to be taken to an area hospital.

It's upon his arrival there that he was diagnosed as having additional external and internal injuries. He was last listed as being in critical condition. The truck driver and his passenger were uninjured.

OHP officers then remained at the crash scene investigating the crash as workers began cleaning up auto parts and other debris strewn about the roadway. They haven't yet determined what may have led up to the crash occurring. It's unclear if any charges will ultimately be filed in the case.

Interstates are particularly dangerous for motorists, especially when they share the road with large, heavy tractor-trailers. All it takes is someone becoming distracted or driving too fast for conditions to cause an individual to suffer serious injuries.

When you've been involved in such a collision with a truck, it's important that you take swift action to preserve evidence in your case. A motor vehicle accidents attorney can help you gather it while you're recovering from your injuries resulting from a Tulsa crash.
