Four people injured in three-car collision near Claremore

Inattentive driving is a common cause of motor vehicle accidents, especially on heavily traveled roads and busy intersections. A recent multi-vehicle accident near Claremore shows how a brief moment of inattention can quickly turn into a serious accident that injures several people.

According to police, a vehicle heading north on Highway 88 had stopped and was signaling for a left turn. A second vehicle stopped to provide space for the turning vehicle. A third vehicle failed to stop and crashed into the rear end of the second, or middle, vehicle.

That vehicle was pushed into the back end of the turning vehicle. Four people occupied the three vehicles. Three of them were transported to Tulsa hospitals in stable condition, and the driver of the second car, who was in critical condition, was air-lifted to another hospital.

Police attributed the accident to inattentive driving by the person driving the third vehicle. Police are currently investigating the crash by photographing the scene and making careful measurements of tread marks and similar indicators of the cause of the accident. No mention has been made of possible excess speed or incapacitation caused by alcohol or drugs.

Anyone who has been injured or lost a loved one in a similar accident may wish to consider making a claim against the driver who is liable for the accident – in this case, the driver of the third car that crashed into the two vehicles that were stationary. In making such a claim, the advice of an experienced personal injury lawyer can be critical to recovering damages. A knowledgeable attorney can evaluate the evidence and provide an estimate of the likelihood of recovering damages for medical expenses, lost income and pain and suffering.
